New York-based influential design industry media ELLE Decor has dedicated its January/ February issue to the theme International Women of Design. Mammalampa creative director Ieva Kalēja is among the 10 TALENT designers “Women of the World”.
“Welcome to the New Decade of Design,” calls ELLE Decor, gathering the designers of the era. In this edition, ELLE Decor has highlighted a floor lamp The Queen from Mammalampa’s collection, a contrasting play with materials. “The piece is combination of the richest and poorest materials” gold and corroding steel. It is design to provide a feeling of well-being and will add balance and harmony to a space” is stated in the article. The combination of materials used not only highlights each other, but also blurs the stereotype boundary between valuable and worthless, changing attitudes and perceptions of both design and production.
Editor-in-chief of the magazine, Whitney Robinson, is often cited as one of the most influential figures in the industry in the US. So it’s a pleasure to have added a reference to Mammalampa in his Instagram account @whowhatwhit when applying for the magazine’s new issue.
“New York is the epicenter of design and getting into this design chain is probably every designer’s dream. The fact that “Mammalampa| is noticed by an influential industry media such as Elle Decor is both a conformation of our design topicality and the result of a purposeful collaboration with a partner representing us in New York and Los Angeles, says Director Ieva Kalēja.
For 10 years, Mammalampa products have taken their place on the design world scene – up to 90% of Mammalampa products are exported to partners in more than 20 countries, where they are included in major interior projects alongside the world’s leading design brands.
