In 2005, Natālija Jansone won the European Union contest for designers, and got the chance to participate in the exhibition ‘EU bridge to Japan’. In the same year, she received four orders from the largest Japanese trading companies. Natalie has won the ‘Export and Innovation Award 2006’ by the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia for special achievements in export. In 2006 and 2007, she was recognised as the “Best Designer of the Year”. In 2014, the leading Japanese fashion magazine Ginza recognised the uniforms designed by Natālija Jansone fot the cabin crew of the Latvian national flight company airBaltic as one of the best in the world.
In 2015, the Natalija Jansone brand underwent repositioning, putting more emphasis on ready-to-wear items for the international market. The brand regularly participates in the prestigious Paris trade show Tranoi Femme and it can be bought in shops in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, and, of course, in Latvia.
Her love for Asia and its culture has significantly influenced the designer’s style, therefore her collections are laconic with an oriental mood. Natālija’s collections are like a haiku in the fashion language – elegant, restrained and precisely cut. The designer describes her style as the synthesis of comfort, cosiness, colour, and shape, where a qualitative fabric plays a great role in the inspiration.
